Kim's Edit | Sunday Riley Juno Oil

I have to admit I am a lazy person. To my own harm, this laziness was self-evident in my skin-care regime. For a length of time I am too ashamed to disclose I saw skin-care as cumbersome. It was a hassle to remove my make-up at night, cleanse, moisturise, treat, the whole ordeal...

It wasn't until recently when I noticed my laziness not only translate into my habits, but on to my skin! Its toll took its form in dry, dull and flaky skin. Make-up, albeit being a 'quick fix' solution (thank you Nars creamy concealer) no longer sufficed to create a truly flawless canvas. Hence, enough was enough... I decided to research into the coveted Sunday Riley skincare range as a starting point for action, which lead me to her Juno Oil.

Sunday Riley by VICTORIA WILL,
The Life of Riley
A bit about Sunday Riley: Sunday is the eponym of her skin care line founded in 2009. Having studied chemistry at university, the knowledge she derived from her education allowed her to bridge the relationship between science and cosmetics, giving her an advantage in the industry. She could understand and communicate how specific chemicals and materials affect the products we buy off our Mecca and Sephora shelves and apply on our face. With this in mind, we're in trusted hands.

Juno is...
  • Cold pressed (like all her other oils.) This cold-pressed process allows the seeds to retain all their goodness (omega, lipids, antioxidants, vitamins) and potency. A month ago, each bottle of oil was a seed.
  • Fragrance, cruelty and paraben free
  • A dry oil
Dry oils have a lightweight formula and faster absorption. It leaves a satin-matte finish so you don't have to worry about looking like an oil slick during the day as it is non-greasy.
  • For all skin types: Dry, combination, oily, sensitive.
It claims to, "hydrate the skin and give an obsession-worthy glow",  as well as plump it and refine the pores ALL while minimising redness and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Listed on the packaging are the ingredients that supposedly achieve this:

Packaging
At a hefty price-point of $132(AUD) we receive, as one would expect, luxe packaging. The oil is in a gorgeous sun-set colour schemed glass bottle and white dropper, and the bottle itself feels substantial to hold. Sitting on my bathroom basin it looks enticing to use. Bear in mind if you're travelling it's unlikely to be travel friendly given its weight.

Application
I apply Juno in the morning and use 3-4 drops to massage into my face before applying any moisturiser. If I'm feeling adventurous or my skin is otherwise looking dull, I mix one drop into the foundation I'm using that day and it gives off a luminous and healthy glow to the skin.

Pros vs Cons

So is it worth it?

Next up, her Power Couple...

Hi readers!
My name is Kim. I'm a student studying law and french, but have a passion and love for make-up and skincare. I needed an outlet for this, somewhere I could impart my opinion, reviews and advice (and seek that of others) on different products in the sphere of all things beauty. So, I made a blog - the perfect logical solution.
